Child Protection & Development
A significant proportion of children are continuing to experience violence, abuse and exploitation due to poverty, and/or because their rights are not being upheld. Our goal is to ensure that children are educated, protected and cared for, with a focus on early childhood development and preschool-aged youth.
We work with:
___• Children to increase their knowledge and skills for development.
___• Families and duty bearers to improve their capacity to protect and care for children.
___• Local authorities and the government to strengthen child protection mechanisms and services.
How we do it:
___• Introducing education scholarship programs.
___• Raising awareness of education opportunities.
___• Facilitating career development sessions with school children and families.
___• Investing in infrastructure and schooling resources, such as school supplies, furniture and uniforms.
___• Providing transport solutions and improving the accessibility of schools.
___• Building the capacity of early childhood and primary school teachers to perform health check-ups and to screen for malnutrition.
___• Strengthening child protection mechanisms by working with the government and other key stakeholders.
